Science Expo

We started the week by celebrating our Varsity Girls Basketball team.  Specifically, we honored the 8th grade girls before they played their last home game in which they won against St. Mary Magdalene.   Go Dragons!

We also celebrated Parent Visitation today and displayed the Science Expo projects.  This year, the projects for the 8th grade were a little different than those in the traditional science fair.  Eighth grade students were invited to research topics that they were passionate about.  The possibilities in this research were endless and we were very proud of the outcome!  Great work, eighth grade!

We will celebrate other traditions next week like our traditional milk and cookies and special full school pizza lunch.
Reminders:Please send in your pizza money.  Friday the 20th will be free dress for the students.

Balancing it all!

The eighth grade students are balancing a lot this time of year - shadow days and high school applications, current classes, extracurriculars, mission party preparation, etc.  It is important to take the time to enjoy "free" time like recess, especially with this beautiful weather!

This year, the eighth grade students will take a main role in the preparation of the yearbook.  They will be responsible for taking pictures and creating page layouts, ensuring that we have captured all of the students here at HCA.  Don't be surprised if you see them walking around school with a camera!

Next Wednesday, 10/30, we will be taking a full school aerial photo via drone.  Students should wear their fall/spring uniforms.  This is not a gym day for 8th grade so this is not a change.

Next week is also the Mission Party - 10/31.  We have been busy preparing games and activities for the younger students.  Please make sure to come check out their work in the gym.  It is a half-day of schoo…
