Balancing it all!

The eighth grade students are balancing a lot this time of year - shadow days and high school applications, current classes, extracurriculars, mission party preparation, etc.  It is important to take the time to enjoy "free" time like recess, especially with this beautiful weather!

This year, the eighth grade students will take a main role in the preparation of the yearbook.  They will be responsible for taking pictures and creating page layouts, ensuring that we have captured all of the students here at HCA.  Don't be surprised if you see them walking around school with a camera!

Next Wednesday, 10/30, we will be taking a full school aerial photo via drone.  Students should wear their fall/spring uniforms.  This is not a gym day for 8th grade so this is not a change.

Next week is also the Mission Party - 10/31.  We have been busy preparing games and activities for the younger students.  Please make sure to come check out their work in the gym.  It is a half-day of school with dismissal at noon.  Eighth grade students have made special t-shirts in art class for this event and should wear them that morning.  Every student is asked to bring $5.00 to contribute towards the cost of the event.

Some Reminders -
1. Book Fair visit for 8th grade is Wednesday, 10/30.
2. Full school aerial photo to be taken on Wednesday morning, 10/30.
3. Mission Party is a half-day on Thursday, 10/31.
4. There is NO SCHOOL on Friday, 11/1.
